#TEAMw21 first encountered Jarrod Dickenson off duty when he was opening for The Waterboys at Hammersmith Odeon and then when supporting Don McLean at The Palladium as well as a slew of dates across the capital. It's been a while since we've last met, during which he released the excellent covers EP "Under A Texas Sky" as well as a cracking new album "Big Talk". A great interpreter of songs - his takes on Tom Waits' "Picture In A Frame" is inspired. On a mission to make Waco Texas famous for something else than what is is generally remembered for - time with Jarrod will undoubtedly be top class entertainment.
#TEAMw21 were perhaps slightly slow to appreciate the wonders of Hannah White, it took a rare solo slot supporting Danni Nicholls at the Green Note to bring us together and we've not looked back since. She was also the first indoor show that we covered post covid and her recent albums and live shows since have been superb.
We've often said that Hannah White has quite possibly the authentic country sounding voice of any UK artist and this will be a chance to see why.Currently embarking on a 12 month release schedule of 12 singles, one a month which has allowed her free reign in her creativeness. Whether solo or with her star studded ban she is always a compelling presence.
Those living in London, will finally get a rare chance to see what the fuss is about Robyn Red. With only 3 singles to her name it is hard to say too much about her - she'll be bedecked for sure in her trademark red hat. She is hot off her second appearance at the Buckle & Boots Festival, she was excellent solo last year and the clips that have surfaced so far suggest her band performance drew a huge crowd. Whether with band or solo expect a powerful voice, and a winning personality - a definite potential star in the making.
Stevie O'Connor is the one act on the bill that we have not actually seen however we have seen, after effects of one of his shows which was a mass crowd besieging the Meet & Greet Stage at Buckle & Boots telling us how great he had been and demanding a snap with their hero! It is going to be great to see what could cause this type of frenzy to occur.
So it is an afternoon show leaving you free to squeeze in another show should you have the energy - there's food and drink and top quality Americana entertainers - there really is only one place to be.
