CHARM OF FINCHES - MIDDLE OF YOUR MESS

The second single from "Marlinchen In The Snow", the new album from Charm Of Finches sees Ivy and Mabel with their own take female relationships where what is said is not always what is meant!

Opening to the harmonies of the sisters picking out two lines from the chorus, and little else initially apart from an acoustic guitar, "Middle Of Your Mess" is an intriguing song.

The first verse highlights a world where nothing can be taken at face value

"‘You look happy’ means I wish you were sad

‘Oh hey it’s nice to see you’ means get out of my house"

The sound is deceptively simple after the musical extravaganza of the opening single "Clean Cut", the drums and the acoustic guitar seem to make up most of the instrumentation although there seems to be lots of contributions quietly beavering away at the back of the mix that add to the overall sound. It is the layers of vocals that the Charm Of Finches supply that are the real attention grabber.
